Are Stop Snoring Aids Really Effective Or Just Wasting Your Money?

You can find various stop-snoring aids, remedies, and products anywhere. Furthermore, there is also stop snoring surgery for those who have extreme snoring problems that are uncontrollable. But are they all effective?

Before we can address the appropriate approach to reducing snoring problems, we have to know first the types of snoring. The first one is snoring when asleep and making loud sounds.

The second one is Obstructive sleep apnea, meaning the passage is blocked which causes a person difficulty breathing when sleeping. This snoring dilemma is quite alarming because this complication in breathing does not always allow for noisy sounds.

If a person has this kind of snoring problem, she or he needs to consult a physician right away for diagnosis and treatment.

Besides stopping snoring remedies or exercises, there are also anti-snoring aids and devices that will temporarily relieve snoring which is soothing to the family, and experience a good night's sleep.

Stop snoring devices:

1. Stop snoring the pillow

This is a special innovation of pillows to minimize snoring. These pillows are still made up of foams, however, designed with elements that make the snorer sleep comfortably with it on its side.

2. Nasal strips

These are tapes and stuck over the nose to keep airways open allowing free airflow. There is a similar device to the nasal brace or nasal clip.

3. Stop snoring chin strap

It is a strap used to keep the mouth closed throughout sleeping time and opens the throat airways to keep air from flowing.

4. Adjustable beds

This device is seldom advertised to stop snoring. However, it is scientifically noted that sleeping with an elevation of 30 degrees keeps airways open allowing sufficient air to pass to and from, in as much as it relieves diaphragm pressure.

5. Sprays

Nasal sprays are used to provide temporary relief from the nasal block due to swelling in the nasal passage area. This device is the least recommended when snoring is caused by a dry throat or tightening of tissues.

It is more likely used to satisfy the addiction and psychological satisfaction of the user which adds more damage to the existing problem of snoring.

6. Oral products

Another various stop-snoring remedy. We have the snoring pills that are taken before going to bed. Aveo TSD is another device, simple yet effective. What it does is hold the tongue pulling it outside or forward to allow airflow while sleeping. Another one is the Mandibular Advancement device which holds the jaw in place to avoid snoring.

7. Sleep posture correction device

This is a device worn when sleeping to control you from sleeping on your back but only sideways.

8. Biofeedback watch

Another worn device on the wrist will alarm you to change position when you are starting to snore.

9. Hypnosis

This device elicits a solution to snoring from your subconscious mind.

These devices do not assure you anything but temporarily relieve you from discomfort. But if you can directly pinpoint what is causing you to snore then perhaps a solution can be effective.
